The thesis titled "Trends of Media faculty Students at University of Petra and Yarmouk Universities towards News Sources between Traditional and Digital Media" was defended at the Faculty of Mass Communication, University of Petra, by the researcher Dana Al-Najjar. The study aimed to explore the degree of harmony and conflict between traditional and digital media from the perspective of media faculty students at Petra and Yarmouk Universities. It also sought to determine the extent to which the study's sample relied on traditional and digital media to obtain news sources.
The study's results revealed variations in the preferences of the study sample, with students showing a preference for traditional media channels to obtain news, with television channels ranking highest in the cumulative average. Conversely, magazines obtained the lowest cumulative average. The results also showed that the study sample relied on digital media with a high cumulative average, reflecting a growing trust in digital media at the expense of traditional media.
The thesis defense committee consisted of: Dr. Mohammed Bani Dumi - Supervisor and Committee Chairman, Prof. Ali Najadat, and Dr. Manal Al-Mazahreh as internal examiners, and Dr. Amjad Al-Qadi as an external examiner. The committee commended the thesis, recognizing its importance, and considered the student successful.
